Sunex Tools is a recognizable brand with a robust product catalog, but managed and communicated their product data through highly manual and inefficient methods, such as spreadsheets.Their forward-thinking eCommerce group realized that implementing an Akeneo PIM would greatly improve their data management process and allow their business and catalog to grow with little increase in overhead costs.

Approach

Digital Bridge Solutions collaborated with the Sunex Tools marketing team and product managers to define product attribute models for 6 distinct product families from the catalog of 3,000+ SKUs. Product data and assets (imagery, spec sheets) were then migrated into the Akeneo platform. Digital Bridge also designed and implemented an integration between the client's ERP system and Akeneo so that new and modified product data would flow over in a nightly automated process. This allows for the Sunex Tools marketing team to receive daily notifications of new and modified products ready to be enriched.

 

Results

Sunex Tools now has a central place where product data is managed and enriched which reduces efforts for product managers and marketing staff. Akeneo PIM also enables Sunex to automate exports to external data targets like WooCommerce, Amazon, and Home Depot.
